I started to hit the wall at 9 mile & run/walk mile 10 was not good. This being my slowest mile EVER!! my PB had slipped away (lots of walking in the heat) at mile 11 I pulled myself together. But lost it again a mile later. The crowd were Amazzzzing today & pulled me home in the last mile. Time 1:55.07. Two seconds faster that Reading the other week & 2.30 faster than Last year Fleet Half. The bad news is that Duncan kicked my ass!!! making the score after 3 half's. James 2 Dunk 1 (still winning)
Today I'm proud of some many friends I don't know where to Start?
Richard Boese Nailed it again!!! with a new PB 1:49:28
Susan Harvey did her 2nd ever half (I ran her last half with her last year) Susan smashed her PB by 2mins. Susan also ran with Louise Mcintosh for her 1st ever half. They both did so well at 2:25.24.
Last week saw Martin Gay & Lee Marshall take on a Half marathon. This weeks it was Chris Peddle, David Peddle & Doug Pedersen Turn. #BallvsPeddleShowdown.
Of all the runners I know today taking part, David Peddle I was most proud of. David like Chris ran his last half marathon 20 years ago (yes 20 years ago) He has come back from injury only 4 weeks ago and has not had much time to train. David had a excellent time of 2:04.13 and will go below 2hours before the end of 2014. I'm sure of it.
Chris Peddle won Hero of the day. Chris had been sick with Flu for the last 4 days & some how got out of bed to do his first half in 20 years. I have to say Chris did not look well at the start. He went off like a rocket with Dunk. When I saw him at mile 7 he was crashing hard. So to come in under 2hours with 1:59.42 is just Epic. What a Legend. Chris I know you will Smash that next month at Bracknell half (27th April if you want in?) Doug cruised home in 2:17.32 Bang on pace for his full Marathon next month!!!!!
A Massive well done to Nicola Kendall Yewings who completed her first ever half with Husband Nicholas Yewings both raising loads of Money for Cystic Fibrosis Trust. You guys Rock (Thumbs gear hehe)
So many other friends I would love to talk about. But this post will go on all day.
